Balkh is a town in the Balkh Province of Afghanistan, about 20 km (12 mi) northwest of the provincial capital, Mazar-e Sharif. These local heirloom seeds contain 5-6 different genotypes. Plants vary from short to tall with large and wide leaves to some that are narrower. Balkh grows both tall and short and often showing dark green, red and black hues. The aroma is very complex but known to be dominated by rotten fruit and skunk with some earth and nuts influence. Kholm

Kholm, also known as Tashkurgan is a town until recently, in Samangan Province, and now in Balkh Province in the northern part of Afghanistan. When comes to terpene profiles and colours, this variety is the most diverse among others from Afghan Selection. This aromatic strain grows tall up to 4m and has a vast array of colours varying from green to red, to yellow and pink. Chimtal

Chimtal District is in Balkh Province in northern Afghanistan. This fabulous plant develops plenty of robust side branches which surround a prominent main stem. Mazar-i-Sharif

Mazar-i-Sharif is a city in Northern Afghanistan and the capital of Balkh Province. The town derives its name (meaning “tomb of the saint”) from the reputed discovery there of the tomb of the caliph Ali, son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, in the 15th or (according to Afghan legend) 12th century. Plants can grow short as well as tall with small, wide leaves and colours of dark green, red and even some black. It features an intense and penetrating sweet melon fruity aroma with spicy hints to it. A true Afghanica with a very strong high.
